Terms & conditions - guided tours

Before you Book a Self-Drive Guided Tour with World Overlanders

World Overlanders operates, and acts as an agent for operators who operate, adventure tourism. These tours are not the same as a week in a resort in Noosa or even Bali (that’s not why you’re here!). We, and the third-party operators, offer you the opportunity to have incredible experiences in off-the-beaten track destinations. However, there are inherent risks involved with seeking adventure in remote areas or in countries that have different levels of infrastructure and safety standards from those which you are used to at home. In booking a self-drive tour with World Overlanders you acknowledge that activities that you will engage in on the tours can be dangerous and result in injury or death, and that you partake in them at your own risk. You also acknowledge that routes and itineraries may be subject to change due to road conditions, weather events, strikes and civil unrest and many other factors. World Overlanders and its employees are not responsible for any injury, death, damage to property or vehicles, or anything related to you taking on those risks. Any changes to the itinerary are entirely at the discretion of World Overlanders or the third-party operator.

Before embarking on any tour with World Overlanders or a third-party operator, we encourage you to ensure that you are physically able and willing to endure some discomfort from rough roads and extreme weather, travel far from assistance, and actively participate in the tour. If you have any concerns, we recommend you speak with your doctor or other medical professionals prior to booking. Please feel free to discuss any concerns you may have with us.

Travel insurance is compulsory for joining any tours operated by World Overlanders, or by any third parties for whom World Overlanders acts as an agent. Your travel insurance should be suitable for adventure tourism in the countries that you will be visiting, include coverage for assistance in the event of personal accident, death, illness, medical expenses, and repatriation. We strongly recommend that it also covers, cancellation, curtailment, personal liability, loss of luggage and personal effects.

We recommend you take out your personal travel insurance at the time that the tour is confirmed or becomes a guaranteed departure. We require full details of your travel insurance before departure including policy name, policy number, validity dates and emergency contact details.

World Overlanders is not insured or responsible for insurance coverage for individuals, groups or businesses as an agent for contracting parties outside of Australia.

Please ensure that you consult your personal physician about anti-malaria precautions and other inoculations and vaccinations before travel. Where applicable, please ensure that whilst travelling if you have travelled from a Yellow Fever country you carry a valid Yellow Fever certificate. Please feel free to discuss any concerns with World Overlanders before booking.

It is your responsibility to have a current passport and obtain all required visas, permits, vaccination certificate and onward flights for your intended journey. Your passport must be valid 6 months after the last date of travel as set out on your itinerary. You accept full responsibility for obtaining all such documents, visas and permits prior to the start of the trips, and you are solely responsible for the full amount of costs incurred as a result of missing or defective documentation.

Any personal information that we collect about you will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy which is available on the World Overlanders website and may be updated periodically.

A deposit of A$1,000 is required to confirm a booking and this is non-refundable except where World Overlanders cancels a tour prior to departure.

This allows for the booking of vehicles and associated accommodation and activities which require booking a long period in advance and involve non-refundable deposits by the suppliers.

Once a tour is confirmed – where minimum passenger or vehicle numbers have been reached – the tour will be confirmed in writing. At this point all deposits become non-refundable. Once the trip has been confirmed you can start booking flights and making other arrangements

The final payment of the remaining tour balance is due 90 days prior to departure or in the case of booking less than 90 days before departure full payment is required on booking to confirm your booking.

If you should choose to leave the tour you will not receive any refund of the tour price, nor have any claim against World Overlanders in respect of expenses incurred.

Accommodation, activities and arranged sightseeing are subject to change at any time due to unforeseen circumstances or circumstances beyond World Overlanders’ control. Every effort will be made to operate tours as planned, but alterations may occur after the final itinerary has been issued.

World Overlanders also reserves the right to withdraw a tour or any part of it, to make such alterations to the itinerary or the tour inclusions as it deems necessary or desirable, and to pass on to tour members any expenditures or losses caused by delays or events beyond its control in the case of force majeure.

In case of any appreciable variation in the tour price due to these circumstances, World Overlanders reserves the right to make adjustments to the tour costs as necessary.
